Year 2014 – The Background Story
Born from passion: A completely new treatment unit for veterinary dentistry
From the beginning, I chose veterinary medicine out of a deep love for animals. And then it was again the love for this
work that led me to develop products for my practice and those of my colleagues.
There’s a long road behind this. I completed my studies twice: first in Cuba, with a doctorate, then again at the Free University of Berlin.
This was followed by numerous professional positions and further training in Germany, in other European countries (such as Sweden, Spain, the Netherlands) and in the USA.
Finally, I founded the “Center for Veterinary Dentistry Hamburg” with more than 1,000 periodontal treatments annually. And time and again, I experienced challenges during diagnosis and treatment,
which spurred on the inventor in me.
The Integral Veterinary Dental Unit
This question occupied me daily: Why do technical assistance systems complicate everyday treatment processes in practice?
After analyzing the difficulties and obstacles, it was time for optimization. Until I finally made the decision: Now I’ll develop it myself! In cooperation with two medical technology companies, I designed a new treatment unit.
With my company “Oriyena Dental Hamburg GmbH”, I now present to you the “Integral Veterinary Dental Unit” with a new concept for effective diagnosis and treatment of cats and dogs. Integrated are NSK-compatible turbines, contra-angle and handpieces. With the “OSAVISION–System”, you can now explain even more clearly to the pet owner where their beloved pet is hurting and which treatment is best.
We have been successfully testing this system at the “Center for Veterinary Dentistry Hamburg” for several years. Now it is technologically mature, and we would like to share this innovation with you, dear colleagues,
for the benefit of our animal patients.
The Background
Over 1,000 times a year, our small patients need our dental care.
During these numerous treatments, I noticed that
• it is always a challenge to maneuver the X-ray device between the cables of the anesthesia monitor while simultaneously positioning the patient correctly. When
a larger dog needs to be lifted onto the table, assistance is often necessary.
• it is often difficult to convey to pet owners what disease an animal has and which treatment is the right one.

In the year 2019 Pandemic period
Elvira, our new dental unit, is one of our positive and innovative products from the pandemic era. The restrictions gave us, as a company, ample time to revise our existing products and develop new ones. Through the numerous opinions, advice, recommendations, and constructive criticisms from our colleagues in veterinary dentistry and human medicine, we were able to continuously improve our products and adapt them to our customers’ needs. We wanted to design a dental unit that: -is freely and easily movable throughout the practice and can be used at any table -guarantees an illuminated work area -takes up little space and allows for a lot of flexibility -combines all important systems while still being mobile That’s how she came to be, Elvira, the new flexible “team member” of the new generation, of which we are very proud.
